In this game of risk, strategy, and prediction, players battle to earn the highest score using combinations of dice over four rounds. The twist? Not all dice are visible – and correctly predicting your performance can lead to a major bonus.
A total of 4 rounds will be played in the game.
Each round follows these steps:
Setup:
Each player begins with 9 public dice (all players can see), and 2 private dice (hidden from other players)
Based on the dice rolls, players must secretly choose between 4 score prediction cards and form a strategy accordingly. If a player ends the round with a score that matches their prediction, they will receive bonus points. The predictions will be revealed at the end of the round and there is no penalty for incorrect predictions.
The prediction card options are:
Zero (exactly 0 points), Minimum (1–6 points), More (7–10 points), Maximum (11 points or more)
Submitting dice:
Each round is played over 3 turns, with each player submitting their choice of any 3 dice (may include private dice) in each turn. Therefore, only 9 dice will be used out of the 11 total dice each player receives.
The goal is to select 3 dice that will create your desired combination, which in turn will be ranked from highest to lowest against other players' combinations. The combination rankings (similar to poker hands) are shown below.
All players can see any dice that have been previously submitted, but the value of other players' private dice are hidden.
Once all players have completed their turn, any private dice that were used are revealed and rankings are determined.
All dice (public or private) used in a turn are removed from play and cannot be used in subsequent turns.
In each round, the turn order for the first turn is randomized. For turns 2 and 3 of the same round, the player who won the previous turn goes first.
At the end of the third turn, each player discards their remaining two unused dice, and the round scores are calculated.
Scoring:
Combination rankings (highest to lowest)
Triple – 3 of the same number
Straight – 3 consecutive numbers (1 and 6 are not considered consecutive)
Double – 2 matching dice and one different die
Single – 0 matching or consecutive values
The rankings determine how many points each player receives:
1st place – 6 points
2nd place – 3 points
3rd place – 1 point
4th place – 0 points
If multiple players submit a combination that has the same rank, the combination that is formed using the highest number wins. Examples:
If there is a tie between Doubles (2, 2, 5) vs (3, 3, 1), then the combination (2, 2, 5) wins.
If there is a tie between Straights (1, 4, 5) vs (1, 2, 6), then the combination (1, 2, 6) wins.
If it is still tied, compare the highest dice remaining. For example, the Straight (1, 4, 5) beats (1, 2, 5).
If multiple players submit the exact same dice, players will split the combined points evenly. For example, if there is a full tie between first and second place, both players will receive (6+3)/2 = 4.5 points.
Prediction bonuses
Players who accurately predicted their score at the end of the round receive a bonus:
Predicting a score of 0 for the round correctly will gain a bonus of 40 points.
Any other correct prediction will double a player's score for that round.
